The Customs Department at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport said January 5 that the number of passengers entering the country through the airport rose by 60,000 compared to last week, an increase of 5-7 percent.

Of the passengers, overseas Vietnamese and tourists from France, Australia, Canada, Japan, and China accounted for the most.

It is expected that the number of air travelers arriving in the city will increase by 10-15 percent each week until the Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays, which begin February 14.
