Vietnam Airlines cuts fares to stimulate tourism demand
Stated-owned Vietnam Airlines on May 26 announced its fares for the second stage of a program to stimulate domestic tourism that will run until the end of September.

Between June 1 and August 31, a round ticket from HCMC to Ha Noi and Vinh will cost VND1.4 million, and will be reduced to VND1 million to Hue and Da Nang.

It will be cut to VND1.4 million on the HCMC - Hai Phong and Ha Noi – Can Tho routes, to VND600,000 for Ha Noi – Dong Hoi, and to VND1.55 million for Ha Noi – Buon Ma Thuot.

But the fares would fall sharply in September, the carrier said, to VND810,000 for a round trip from Ha Noi and HCMC to Hue and Da Nang.

HCMC travel companies sold 3,200 tours to the northern and central regions in the first stage of the program, said Tran The Dung, deputy director of Young Generation Travel, adding that the number is expected to rise two or three times before the campaign ends.
