Malaysia Air Asia Launches in Viet Nam

The Civil Aviation Administration of Viet Nam (CAAV) has licensed Malaysia Air Asia to open its Kuala Lumpur-Ha Noi route in October 2006.

In fact, Air Asia has been a familiar brand in Viet Nam through Thai Air Asia which was permitted with two flights a week between Ha Noi and Bankok last year.

The growth rate of the Viet Nam market is highly appreciated by many airlines. There are about 28 international airlines in operation in Viet Nam for the time being.

Besides, China Airlines officially started its Taipei-Ha Noi cargo air service on July 19. This will help China Airlines expand its cargo transport service to Viet Nam with two flights a week by Boeing 747-400F.

In addition, Aeroflot Russian Airlines will re-open the Moscow-Ha Noi route in July after a halt from August 2005.
