France hit by Toulalan, Abidal injury blows

PARIS, Nov 15, 2009 (AFP) - France midfielder Jeremy Toulalan and central defender Eric Abidal have both been ruled out of Wednesday's World Cup play-off second leg tie against Ireland because of injury.

Toulalan has a groin injury while Abidal, who started Saturday's first leg in Dublin which France won 1-0, has a thigh problem.

The eventual winner of Wednesday's Stade de France clash qualifies for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.
