Former stars of English Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester United will grace Hanoi’s National My Dinh stadium on November 19 and 20 in a series of friendly matches in the Masters Vietnam 2009 exhibition competition, the organizers announced Monday.

Former Manchester United stars Andy Cole, Andrei Kanchelskis, Vivian Anderson, and Mark Walters, Dominic Matteo and John Barners, who used to play for Liverpool, will play ex-stars of Vietnam in the two games, the organizers said at Monday’s Masters Cup presentation press conference in Hanoi.

Britain’s Masters Football Cup said they would bring two English Premier League referees, Dermott Gallagher and John Underhill, to Hanoi to officiate the matches.

A Vietnam Football Federation representative said the body planned to invite 30 former Vietnamese stars to play the two games – with Manchester United ex-players on Nov. 19 and former Liverpool stars the following day.

The organizers of the two friendlies are in talks with Vietnam Television and Ho Chi Minh Television on broadcasting the games live.

They have not announced the ticket prices yet.
