The famed duo of pop star Quang Dung and diva Hong Nhung will join in the singing at the Vi Ta Can Co Nhau (We Need One Another) concert taking place at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on August 24 and 25.

The couple said that they have been interested in pairing up for a long time. The show will be a kickoff of a long-term cooperation between the two artists.

The concert aims to honor the beautiful life that can be created when people become interested in sharing love, wellness and woes with each other. “We want to present valuable music to audiences. The concert will satisfy the most fastidious music lovers,” Nhung said.

The duo will perform well known duets of famous musicians such as Trinh Cong Son, Duong Thu, Bao Chan, Viet Anh, Do Bau and Duc Tri, as well as Hong Nhung’s songs which will be introduced to the public for the first time.

Quang Dung was born in the central coastal city of Quy Nhon where he started his career. He moved to HCMC five years ago and won the hearts of music-lovers with his warm, expressive voice. The pop star has celebrated seven years of celebrity with two concerts entitled Chuyen Cua Toi (My Story) at the HCMC Hoa Binh Theater on May 13 and 14.

Hong Nhung, from Ha Noi, was introduced to music at a very early age. Nhung appeared in children’s musical programs on radio and TV when she was only 12 years old. Emigrating to HCMC in 1990, Nhung has achieved great success in performing musician Trinh Cong Son’s songs and has become an accredited singer of his works.

She is also well known for songs about Ha Noi including Co Phai Em, Mua Thu Ha Noi? (Is It the Fall of Ha Noi?), Huong Ve Ha Noi (Toward Ha Noi), Nho Mua Thu Ha Noi (Recollection of Ha Noi’s Fall), Ha Noi Dem Tro Gio (A Windy Night in Ha Noi) and Ha Noi Mua Vang Nhung Con Mua (The Rainless Season in Ha Noi). With a golden voice and charming smile, Nhung always leaves a deep impression on her audiences.

The close friends are quite happy with their personal situations. Hong Nhung has just been engaged to an American businessman, while the wedding ceremony of Quang Dung and his wife, Jennifer Pham (Miss Asia USA 2006) was held at the Sofitel Plaza Saigon on July 25.
