Shellfish Bonanza Surprises Fishermen
In the aftermath of typhoon Mekkhala which occurred on October 1, fishermen in the costal communes of Quang Phuc and Quang Tho in the North Central Coastal Province of Quang Binh have seen millions of sweet snails and so long - a kind of shellfish lying along the coast.

The fishermen say it is a strange phenomenon that has never happened before.

They have been using baskets to scoop the shellfish.

However, most of them have died as the waves dumped them on the shore, and the fishermen have found that they had begun to smell rotten, by the time they get home.
