Party Leader Hails National Unity Festival

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nong Duc Manh called for concerted efforts to turn the national unity festival into a broad public forum where people of all walks of life are given chances to exercise their rights.

The Party leader made the calls at a meeting in the Ha Noi suburbs district of Thanh Tri on November 8 to mark the 77th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam National Unification Front (Nov. 18).

“Administrations at all levels should take this occasion to better listen to the public and further understand what they think so as to build the Government into the one of the people, by the people and for the people,” he emphasizes.

He also called for stronger unity among the entire Party, nation and army in the interest of the national construction and defense in the new stage of development.

“People should make the spirit of the national unity festival part of their daily lifestyle,” said the Party General Secretary.

On the occasion, the organizing board awarded outstanding families and individuals in the movements named “Entire nation works for a new cultural lifestyle in residential quarters” and “Help for the poor in residential quarters.”
