PM launches emulation movement for Hanoi 1000th anniversary
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung speaks at a function held June 14 to launch an emulation movement to mark Hanoi’s 1000 year anniversary

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has exhorted people and soldiers to participate in an emulation movement to mark the 1000th anniversary of Hanoi next year.

Speaking at a ceremony held June 14 by the Central Emulation and Reward Council in Hanoi to launch the nationwide movement, he asked all localities, organizations, and agencies to embrace the movement and mobilize people for it.

Hanoi must take the lead in the movement, focusing on efforts to prevent an economic slowdown, ensure social welfare, and speed up work on major projects for the millennium anniversary, said Mr Dung, who is also the Council chairman.

At the ceremony, the Council presented the Government’s emulation flags to 60 collectives for their outstanding achievements.
