| Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Denies News on Soldiers' Attack against Hmong in Laos | |
There was news that some Vietnamese soldiers were allegedly involved in an attack on Hmong people, ethnic Laotians, in Laos in early April, 2006, killing 26 people and injuring 4.
“That is total concoction aiming to distort the situation, stain the image and sabotage the relationship between Viet Nam and Laos. The friendly relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries are based on mutual respect for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dzung, in his replies to correspondents' request on May 9, 2006 to confirm of the information about the alleged attack. |
