| Website Providing Information on Viet Nam Launched in Russian | |
A website providing information of Viet Nam in Russian has been launched by the two Vietnamese and Russian friends at the beginning of the year has attracted more than 5,000 visitors per day.
|
| Webmasters Ira and La Xuan Thang (R) |
La Xuan Thang, a 27-year-old Vietnamese and owner of the website, received a scholarship to study abroad at the Moscow Road Transport University in Russia, eight years ago, after achieving the highest score in the HCMC Polytechnic University entry exam.
He always dreamed of setting up a website providing information about Viet Nam to Russians interested in Viet Nam’s culture and people.
Thang then met Irina Ivanova Alexandrovna (Ira), a 24-year-old Russian woman who speaks Vietnamese fluently and has a passion for Viet Nam. Ira has visited Viet Nam several times already.
The two friends have joined hands to establish their website, http://vietnamui.com, an online cultural bridge between the two countries.
They have collected a great number of documents with updated information on various subjects including Vietnamese music, fine arts, cuisine, destinations, manners and customs and translated them all into Russian before posting them to the website.
“We’ve received a lot of feedback from readers which has improved our site”, said webmaster Thang. “’Vietnamui’ is an affectionate way to address Viet Nam”, he explained.
