| New Regulations on Strikes | |
Five key groups of local businesses must not let strikes happen by dealing with the petitions of their laborers, according to a new decree signed by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The decree stipulates that employers must coordinate with the labor unions to deal with laborers’ concerns. Ministers, heads of ministerial agencies and chairmen of provincial people’s committees should coordinate with labor unions and employers’ representatives to hold meetings with employees to hear their opinions every six months.
The five groups of businesses that must not allow strikes to happen include firms in the fields of industries, traffic and transportation, post and telecoms, agriculture-forestry-fisheries and urban services. |
