| Lawyers Must Be Bar Members | |
The deputies of the National Assembly discussed the Draft Law of Lawyers in the session on February 16, 2006. Many approved the proposal that lawyers must be Bar members.
According to the drafting committee, the regulation is derived from the Ordinance for Lawyers (2001). It is also the normal practice of the profession in many countries.
In order to protect clients’ benefits and prevent illegal behaviors and confidence breach of lawyers, the Draft regulates strictly the duties, responsibilities, professional ethics and behaviors of a lawyer. Thus, the Bar of Lawyers is a suitable organization to make sure that lawyers observe the regulations.
