Three police were killed and three others seriously injured in a gunfight after a man wanted for drug trafficking took his own daughter hostage in the northern province of Hoa Binh on February 5.
Police had surrounded the house of the wanted man, Hang A Khua, 54, after he returned home to celebrate Tet with his family, and demanded that Khua give himself up.
Khua allegedly took his own daughter hostage, before the police rescued her and a gunfight broke out. Khua was shot dead.
