The event, which is supported by the Australian Consulate General, aims to mark the history, culture and achievements of these peoples.
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme is “Honouring Our Elders, Nurturing Our Youth,” said the Australian Consulate General.
“This reflects the great contribution made by Elders to community life. The theme also encompasses the achievement of Elders past and present and looks to the future,” the consulate said in the statement.
The consulate said it would hold activities at the RMIT University, Hong Bang University and the Library of General Sciences in the city. NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. |
