City to announce safe food companies

The Department Agriculture and Rural Development will announce the list of companies and farms which produce safe meat, food and vegetables in Ho Chi Minh City over the next coming days.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council discussed food safety issues with the City’s Department Agriculture and Rural Development on March 10.

According to the Department, there are some of businesses which have models for safety breeding, such as Dong Hiep and Phuoc Long which breed pigs.

In addition, the Department also proposed the city’s Veterinary Department to admit 14 pig breeding and five buffalo breeding farms as they provide safe pigs and buffalos.

The city also discussed building up and increasing the ability of food safety management systems in order to ensure food safety based on regional and international standards.
