| HCMC’s Officials Wear Crash Helmets from Today | |
In a ceremony held yesterday in Ho Chi Minh City to encourage officials from local party organizations to wear crash helmets, officials have begun abiding by the Government’s new regulations on traffic order and safety. They will now wear crash helmets when driving on all roads, since today.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Hoang Nam, Deputy Head of District 1’s Police Force, over 700 officials and policemen have equipped themselves with crash helmets, and the unit will be the first in the city to do so as one of the basic standards of officials’ performances each month.
Local officials also have the responsibility to encourage friends and family to wear crash helmets when operating motorbikes on all local streets.
The People’s Committees of Tan Binh and Thu Duc Districts have also made many efforts to raise public awareness on traffic safety and order.
The ceremony was held by the HCMC Committee for Traffic Safety and the HCMC Labor Union with the participation of Mr. Le Thanh Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the HCMC Party committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Dua, Vice Standing Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee and other officials.
