Binh Tan District Continues to Develop

Thanks to the relentless effort of local authorities and its residents, Binh Tan District has made considerable achievements since its establishment three years ago, said Mr. Le Thanh Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

With the slogan “The Government and its people work together,” Binh Tan District’s authorities and residents have cooperated in upgrading and expanding over 1,000 local alleys. Over 500 new Party members were admitted to the local organization, bringing the total number of Party members in the district to 2,189.

Mr. Hai also stressed that local leaders and officials need to pay more attention to the improvement of their residents’ living conditions in both physical and mental aspects. Moreover, since 70% of Tan Binh’s residents are immigrants, local officials should enact more effective policies on urban planning and management.

Mr. Hai added that young people should be encouraged to work for local authorities and senior officials must be provided with appropriate retirement compensation arrangements.
