Technology Marketplace to Open in 2009

The Ministry of Science and Technology will cooperate with Ho Chi Minh City to build a technology trade center in district 11.

The new facility will serve the country’s southern region and will mainly function as a marketplace for the sale or purchase of new technologies.

Construction of the center is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2009 and will include the main trading facility as well as an e-library and a department focusing on the popularization of science and technology.

Once operational, the center is expected generate about US$625,000 per year for state coffers.
