Forty best-performing foreign-invested enterprises in the southern focal economic zone received the Saigon Times Top 40 Award 2006 at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.

The fourth annual award was organized by Saigon Times Group, in collaboration with the Planning and Investment Departments of Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai and Binh Duong
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, vice chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said the annual award has instilled more confidence in foreign investors.
She praised the winners for their active contributions to the local community. “It is noteworthy that in the process of development and fiercer competition, these enterprises still spend time on the community with active programs.
Mr. Phan Huu Thang, director of the Foreign Investment Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, highly appreciated the success of the award over the past four years and that it had got higher prestige from foreign-invested enterprises in particular.
In his thank-you note on behalf of the award winners, Pierre Schaufelberger, managing director of Nestle Vietnam, said the Saigon Times Top 40 Award helped bring to public attention the significant contributions that the private sector in general and foreign-invested enterprises in particular make toward the community at large.
