All communes and wards in Vietnam have medical workers, 67 per cent have doctors, and 55 per cent of them meet the Government’s commune healthcare standards, the Ministry of Health told the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Culture and Ideology at a meeting on June 25.
Besides, there are 13,000 public hospitals with 200,000 beds and 74 private medical clinics with 6,000 beds providing treatment around the country, it said.
The Ministry’s tasks now are to improve treatment quality, prevent epidemics, provide training for medical personnel, improve treatment for families in the welfare brackets, and involve investors in the medical sector, Minister of Health Nguyen Quoc Trieu said at the meeting. |
