Gov’t spends more to prevent A/H1N1 flu

The Government will provide a further VND140 billion (US$8 million) from the 2009 healthcare budget to buy equipment, medical instruments, medicines and chemicals for A/H1N1 prevention.

In related news, when asked about the purchase of 32 specialized trucks that would be used to spray chemicals to prevent the H5N1 bird flu, the Prime Minister said the bidding procedure would be conducted in accordance with the auction law.
