Vietnam, China boost medical cooperation

A Chinese-invested hospital, worth 70 billion VND, will be built in northern mountainous province of Lao Cai.

The 500-bed hospital is a joint venture between the Lao Cai Medical Centre and a hospital of the Chinese province of Yunnan. Its construction is scheduled to start in the third quarter of this year and finish in 2010.

Deputy Chairwoman of the Lao Cai Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Bac said the hospital also aims to boost the two provinces’ medical cooperation and acts as a bridge between the Vietnamese and Chinese care sectors.
