Head of the Health Ministry’s Department for Preventive Health and Environment Nguyen Huy Nga released this information at a regular meeting of the National Steering Board on Flu Prevention in Humans in Hanoi on Oct. 14.

The Ministry affirmed that there is no shortage of medicine to treat H1N1, the volume of Tamiflu is still large (over 354,000 tablets) and more are being producing.

As winter approaches, conditions will provide the life-threatening flu more opportunities to develop. The Health Ministry recommends that people diligently follow precautionary measures to control the disease to protect themselves and the community.

At present, 59 out of 63 cities and provinces in Vietnam has A/H1N1 patients.

Vietnam confirmed 76 more cases positive for the super-flu on October 14, raising the total number in the country to 10,124 with 23 deaths. Of the total, 9,437 patients have been released from hospital after treatment. The remainder are under quarantine and being treated. All are in stable condition.
