Ho Chi Minh City Film Library Opens

The Viet Nam Center of Art Research and Film Archives in Ho Chi Minh City has just opened its film library, located at 7, Phan Ke Binh Street, District 1.

More than 500 films are sitting in the library, ready for experts, students and film-lovers to study and research.

The library has three sections. The first area includes Vietnamese documentaries and famous features such as Mot Ngay Dau Thu (The First Day of Autumn), Nguoi Chien Si (The Soldier), Con Chim Vanh Khuyen (Passerine Bird), Chi Tu Hau (Sister Tu Hau), and Vi Tuyen 17 Ngay Va Dem (17th Parallel, Nights and Days).

The second section consists of foreign films which have won awards at well-known international film festivals such as Wings, The Broadway Melody, Casablanca, The Kid, Alexandre Nevski, and The Cranes Are Flying. The last section includes short environmental documentaries.

Users must apply for library cards to enter the room.
