During their stay, eight Oscar nominations and two Oscar winners will be screened at the National Cinema Center in Ha Noi from May 3 to 6 and the Galaxy Theater on Nguyen Trai Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City from May 7 to 10.

The films include Erin Brockovich, L.A. Confidential, The Quiet American, Children of Men, Ice Age, Wrestling with Angels: Playwright Tony Kushner, Field of Dreams and E.T.

The visitors will take part in a week’s worth of screenings, workshops, seminars and meetings with the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture and Information, the Ho Chi Minh City Culture and Information Department, local film professionals and students in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Among the schools and studios they will visit are the Viet Nam Film Institute, Ha Noi Cinema and Theater University, Viet Nam Cinema Technical Center, Giai Phong Film Studio, HK Film, Dofilm and BHD Studio.

It is an opportunity for Vietnamese filmmakers to learn more about their craft through hearing the experiences of their American counterparts.
