The annual Viet Nam Fashion Fair (VFF 2007) promoting local garment and textile companies to domestic and foreign partners has been taking place in the Ho Chi Minh City International Exhibition and Convention Center at 446 Hoang Van Thu Street, Tan Binh District from June 1 to 6.

The event included a fashion gala, organized by the Viet Nam Fashion Design Institute (FADIN), in Ho Chi Minh City’s Legend Hotel. The event show-cased the latest Spring/Summer 2008 collections of Viet Nam’s leading garment and textile companies such as the Viet Tien Garment Company, Garment 10 Joint Stock Co, Phuong Dong Joint Stock Garment Co, Viet Thang Garment Textile & Dye Enterprise and Nha Be Garment Joint Stock Company.

Viet Tien used materials such as cotton, linen, and light and bright colors including white and metallic hues to attract the audience’s attention to the special designs for their high-end brand T-up.

Phuong Dong’s collection, consisting of over 30 dresses that had been inspired by the beauty of 18th century European royalty, attracted fashion-devotees with its splendor and elegance.

Meanwhile the highlight of the Nha Be garment collection was the new, striking designs of over 40 men’s and women’s suits that had been given a modern edge, leaving the audiences very impressed.

Many of the world’s fashion brands will soon break into Viet Nam’s domestic market. The fair was a chance for local garment and textile firms to advertise their trademarks’ quality to local consumers and foreign partners. It also highlighted the export potential of Viet Nam’s garment and textile Industry to world leaders in the garment and textile trade.
