Int’l standard science university to be established

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan presided over a meeting Friday for setting up an international standard university of sciences.

New graduates from An Giang University. Ministry of Education and Training is planning a project to build 4 international standard universities in Vietnam by 2020. 

The university, Hanoi University of Science and Technology , will be founded with $100 million from the state budget. The government also called on for cooperation from foreign partners, among which France is confirmed as the first partner.

This will be a leading university for sciences in Vietnam.

The university is scheduled to be built in 2009 and the first academic year will begin in 2010 with 100 students.

According to a plan by the Ministry of Education and Training, the university should meet international standards by 2020, aiming to be classified on a list of regional and international level universities.

The Ministry is planning a project to build 4 international standard universities in Vietnam and position the country’s education in the world map by 2020.
