A Gong performance in the Central Highlands

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has chosen Pleiku town in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai as the venue for the 2009 International Gong Festival, the provincial administration announced February 2.

The organizers expect the festival, to be held in the third quarter, to attract participants from 10 Asian countries and territories.

Five teams from the Central Highlands will also participate.
