Farmers' Union holds congress
The Vietnam Farmers' Union is discussing ways to improve its functioning at the fifth Vietnam Farmers’ Congress starting Monday at Ha Noi’s National Convention Center.

Themed “Solidarity, Renewal, Integration and Development,” it is attended by 1,175 delegates from across the country.

The association seeks to work more effectively in assisting farmers, helping reduce poverty, ensuring security, and developing rural areas.

Around 73 percent of the country’s population subsists on agriculture.
